Ruth After Gleaning

So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. Then she threshed the barley she had gathered, and it amounted to about an ephah.

Ruth 2:17

A woman is kneeling in a field of golden barley.

The woman is dressed in a long, light brownish-tan, hooded robe over a reddish-maroon tunic and dark blue pants. She is looking at stalks resting on a light brownish-tan, sack that sits beside her.

The setting is a golden hour sunset, with a dramatic sky of vibrant oranges, reds, and blues. The clouds are visible and appear thick and layered against the vibrant colors. The field is filled with tall, ripe stalks of grain, and the ground beneath is covered with dried straw and bits of fallen wheat.

Overall the image conveys the end of a day of work in the fields.
