Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come?
Why should the living complain when punished for their sins?
Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.
Lamentations 3:38-40
A woman, draped in a long, light brownish-tan robe, stands on a path in a landscape dominated by the ruins of an ancient amphitheater or stadium. The ruins are made of light brownish-gray stone and show signs of age and decay.
The woman’s posture and the overall light suggest a contemplative, almost reverent mood. The path leads to a town with assorted structures, including smaller huts and buildings.
People are shown in the distance; many are clustered around the town and along the path to the ruins. They are dressed in robes and tunics in shades of brown and dark red that blend with the warm tones of the sunset.
A basket of oranges is visible on the path, along with other baskets. The sky displays a dramatic sunset, with hues of orange, red, and yellow dominating the upper part of the image.
A large, round sun dominates the horizon, casting warm light on the scene.
The background also includes a coastal setting, and a body of water appears just below the remnants of the city. Tall, slender cypress trees are seen on the far right. Lush, dry, earth-toned grasses and shrubs are visible throughout the landscape.
